Practical Action is an international NGO that promotes the use of technology for poverty reduction in more than 45 countries around the world.
We foster an international movement that demands rethinking the meaning of technological innovation. We work together with poor communities to build practical and sustainable solutions based on their skills and knowledge.
Our operations in Latin America began in 1985 with our regional office based in Lima, Peru. In 2007, the country office in Bolivia was founded.
As a regional office, we have developed projects, consultancies and research in more than 20 countries.
We work for: sustainable agriculture; fair access to markets; access to safe water; development and access to renewable energy; communities resilient to climate change; and more equitable social, political and economic conditions between men and women.
